HI,

I encountered the same problem. Instead, I downloaded the petalinux image from xilinx.com and finished installing QEMU, but when I run it, notes me like below:

ERROR: No hardware dtb found. This is required to boot ZynqMP.

Can anybody help.

Joey, Sergey,

Our apologies for the delay on your replies. Per the instructions in the UM on page 9, petalinux-v2015.SW_Beta2-final-installer.run was a file that you had to download from Xilinx's Early Access Lounge. However, I have also confirmed that the 2015.2.1 version of Petalinux from Xilinx at http://www.xilinx.com/support/download/i...015-2.html will also work. Others, including myself, have recently tried the 2015.4 version and got the same error regarding missing hardware DTB and could not find a workaround, so our recommendation is to use the 2015.SW_Beta2 or 2015.2.1 version.

Regards

I did find a way to to use 2015.4. You need to copy over the zynqmp-qemu-arm.dts from the ZCU102 project (created from the Xilinx-ZCU102-v2015.4-final-dec.bsp currently downloadable from Xilinx) to $RELEASE_DIR/XenZynqDist/subsystems/linux/configs/device-tree. It seems like the 2015.4 version of Petalinux needs a .dts file in that location.

Once you get it running, you'll start getting "macb ff0b0000.ethernet eth0: unable to generate target frequency: 125000000 Hz" warnings. You can suppress these warnings with "dmesg -n 4" after you login to dom0. You can also update your xen.dtb file so your ethernet device(s) uses a 125MHz clock; currently they are using a 25MHz clock, which works with the versions of QEMU that are packaged with earlier versions of Petalinux, but not with the one packaged in the 2015.4 version.

Hello,

Do you know what it means when QEMU outputs the following message? Is there still some configuration I am missing?

Joey,

I don't get that message when I use petalinux v2015.2.1 (which I'm assuming you're using based on the QEMU time/date) and the 9/24 XZD release. Does this halt your system from booting? If so, were you ever successful?

Jarvis,

I am using petalinux v2015.2.1 and 9/24 XZD release too.  when I try to launch petalinux in QEMU mode, it outputs the message and exit. I do not get the login prompt.

Joey,

When I copy and paste what you have above, I get the same error (which is odd, because our paths are different). When I copy and paste the following, it works.

petalinux-boot --qemu --u-boot --qemu-args "-drive file=images/dom0.qcow,format=qcow2,id=sata-drive -device ide-drive,drive=sata-drive,bus=ahci@0xFD0C0000.0 -net nic,vlan=0 -net user,vlan=0 -net nic,vlan=0"

Can you share the command that you're using?

Joey,

I think the problem is that you have an extra space after "...dom0.qcow," right before "format..."
